Our supported Accommodation home is designed to offer a welcoming, safe, and homely environment. Each young Adult has their own private bedroom, and communal areas are provided for social interaction. The homes are equipped with necessary amenities, including kitchen and laundry facilities, to encourage the development of independent living skills.
The homes are situated in communities that offer access to local amenities such as schools, healthcare services, recreational facilities, and public transport.
We have ensured that our home is a safe, secure, and a happy place to live by:
- Ensuring the physical environment adheres to all Health and Safety regulations, while empowering our young people to raise any concerns with their landlord if these standards are not met.
- Providing each young person with their own front door key, unless there are documented and agreed-upon reasons indicating that it is not in their best interest. Such decisions will be made transparently and with the individual’s well-being as the priority.
- Maintaining robust policies and procedures to safeguard young people from all forms of abuse, with regular audits to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
The property is situated at 251 Chapel Street, Leigh, WN7 2AP. It is a semi-detached property with a furnished lounge, an open dining area, a kitchen as well as an equipped office area with an open yard at the side and rear. Also, on the ground floor is a fully furnished one-bedroom ensuite. Upstairs, split into two sections, the first landing has got a fully furnished 1 Bedroom ensuite and 2 double bedrooms, while the second landing has got another fully furnished 2 double bedrooms and a 1 single room. The property is single occupancy. The property is spacious and has been freshly renovated, decorated and furnished to a high standard.
In alignment with Ofsted Regulation 6 “The Quality and Purpose of Care Standard”, which refers to the regulation within the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, specifically focused on the Engaging with the wider system to ensure young people’s needs are met, we carry out mandatory annual assessment of our premises to ensure that our premises consistently provide environments where care leavers and young adults can feel safe, make progress, and have their welfare prioritized.
Each child has their own well-furnished private space that constitutes of:
- Bedroom furniture – Bed, mattress, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet
- Bedside lamp, clothes hangers, laundry basket and neutral curtains.
- The young person will be able to choose their bed linen (pillows, duvet, bed sheet, duvet cover and pillows) based on several options presented by the staff.
- Living room furniture – sofa and armchair, TV, cupboard, and curtains.
- Bathroom – mirror, shower curtain, towels, and a blind for the window.
- Kitchen – contains white goods, hoover, mop, bucket, and brush
For safety and security purposes, there are lightings and alarm systems in place based on the building type.
